| Home Staff Sanitation Streets & Alleys Water Pollution Control Public Works Department The Public Works Department oversees much of the infrastructure that keeps Sedalia running. From roads and alleys to sewer and stormwater management, Public Works Department crews are constantly maintaining and improving Sedalia's public works infrastructure. Additionally, the Public Works Department manages residential and commercial refuse collection and the operation of the city's wastewater treatment facilities. The Department works with its staff and local contractors to manage road, sewer and stormwater improvement projects city-wide. Staff members make every effort to ensure that the work conforms to City specifications while creating as little inconvenience to the public as possible. Public Works operates a yard waste composting facility at 28th Street and New York Avenue for public use. Yard waste, including grass, brush, leaves, garden material, limbs and bushes, can be dropped off at no cost and wood chips will be available on-site for the public.
