The Uniform Operations Bureau provides quality service to both Sedalia citizens and visitors alike. The Bureau is managed by the Uniform Operations Bureau Commander, who reports directly to the Chief of Police. The Bureau operates in a proactive manner to reduce crime, promote citizen safety and react effectively when incidents occur.
Within the Uniform Operations Bureau, the Traffic Management Unit is a highly trained unit that focuses on the safety of the motoring public. The Unit reviews traffic statistic and accident reports and works with the Citizen's Traffic Advisory Commission to improve the safety of vehicular travel on city streets.
The Sedalia Police Department receives over 30,000 calls for service and performs more than 7,000 car stops each year. All calls are categorized for computerized tracking and analysis purposes. Streamlined reporting processes allow officers to quickly complete incident reports and return to patrol duty.
The Uniform Operations Bureau consists of 27 officers who work on one of 4 squads. Three additional officers are assigned to the traffic management unit for special investigations and traffic enforcement.
