Collections & Licensing
The Finance Department manages City collections and licensing and interacts with citizens and local businesses on a daily basis. The office is responsible for collecting and accurately accounting for all monies due to and received by the City, including local sales and property tax. The Finance Department is also is responsible for issuing timely and accurate statements for city services including sewer service out of the city limits, trash pickup, facility rentals and airplane tie downs.
Most city licenses and permits are issued through the Finance Department. Fees for licenses and permits can be paid at the Finance Department office at City Hall, regardless of the office that actually issues the license. With the continuing economic growth and development of Sedalia, the City now issues more than 1,500 business licenses per year.
