Home City Clerk's Staff
The City Clerk's office is the information center for the City of Sedalia. The Clerk acts as the Secretary for the City Council and is responsible for the safekeeping of all city ordinances, resolutions, council minutes, and other official city documents. The City Clerk's office handles records requests per the Missouri Sunshine Law. All executed city contracts are kept on file in the Clerk's office as well. The City Clerk's office is responsible for preparing and disseminating the Council Agenda packets for all Council Meetings and Work Sessions.
The City Clerk coordinates elections for Mayor, City Councilmen, the Municipal Judge and Special Elections as directed by Council. Additionally, the City Clerk's office is responsible for maintaining and updating the Sedalia code of ordinances that are available on the website for viewing. All job openings, bid postings and meeting notices are posted by the Clerk's office and bids are received, opened and tabulated for comparison by the Clerk's staff.
The City Clerk's office issues garage sale permits for all city residents interested in having a garage or yard sale. A residence within the city may have three (3) garage sales each year and is required to receive a permit for each sale. Garage sale applications are available on the Sedalia website.
