Home City Clerk's Staff City Clerk The City Clerk's office is the information center for the City of Sedalia. The Clerk acts as the Secretary for the City Council and is responsible for the safekeeping of all city ordinances, resolutions, council minutes, employee personnel files, and other official city documents. All executed city contracts are kept on file in the Clerk's office as well. The City Clerk coordinates elections for Mayor, City Councilmen, the Municipal Judge and Special Elections as directed by Council. Additionally, the Clerk maintains and updates the Code of Ordinances book and makes copies available for sale to the public. All job openings, bid postings and meeting notices are posted by the Clerk's office and bids are received, opened and tabulated for comparison by the Clerk's staff.
The City Clerk's office issues garage sale permits for all city residents interested in having a garage or yard sale. A residence within the city may have two (2) garage sales each year and is required to receive a permit for each sale. The Clerk's office also acts as the Human Resources office for city government. Personnel policies are maintained by the Clerk and employee benefit programs are managed through the Clerk's office. All new employees sign up for benefit programs through the Clerk's office.
